About the Role
The Accounts Receivable Assistant provides support and assistance that contributes to the efficient and effective management of CatholicCare’s financial operations. The role will ensure accurate and timely invoicing, collection and reconciliation, while adhering to regulatory guidelines to support the financial stability and operational effectiveness of CatholicCare.
Key tasks include:
- Invoicing and Billing – generate and send invoices to clients accurately and promptly, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and regulatory requirements;
- Payment Processing – Receive and record payments from clients, applying them to the appropriate invoices in the accounting system. Follow up on overdue accounts to secure timely payments;
- Reconciliation – Regularly reconcile Accounts Receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and discrepancies are addressed promptly. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner;
- Client Communication – Communicate effectively with clients regarding invoicing, payment status, and any account-related queries or issues. Provide outstanding customer service to maintain positive client relationships and facilitate prompts resolution of payment disputes or discrepancies.
- Support other key functions of the finance team.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a Finance Team;
- Ability to understand and complete a Diploma of Finance (or similar) (desirable);
- Current Driver’s license (QLD).
In addition to the above, you will need to demonstrate:
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to accurately process and reconcile financial transactions, detect discrepancies, and ensure the completeness and correctness of financial records;
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Sound level of verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders, and effectively convey complex financial information;
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and analyse Accounts Receivable data, identify issues or discrepancies, and develop solutions to resolve them efficiently while adhering to organisational policies and procedures;
- Sound level of customer service skills whilst providing excellent customer service, responsiveness to client inquiries and concerns, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients to facilitate prompt payment and resolve issues effectively;
- High level of technical proficiency in the use of accounting software, Microsoft Office suite and financial management systems to process transactions, generate reports, and reconcile Accounts Receivable records accurately; and
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, work collaboratively with colleagues from different departments, and contribute to the achievement of organisational goals and objectives.
