ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE OFFICER
We are looking for an Accounts Receivable officer to join our team in Cairns. The primary purpose of this role is to manage our customers accounts ensuring prompt and accurate reconciliations as well as processing and allocating customer payments.
What you will doing:
- With the assistance of the Credit Controller, assess Credit worthiness of new Business Customers applications within authority levels and in line with Sea Swift’s Credit Assessment, Policy & Procedure Manual.
- Create new customer accounts
- Respond to referee report requests on our debtors.
- Process EFT, cash, cheque and credit card receipts to debtor accounts and clearing accounts from Bank Statement.
- Banking all monies that are received at SS Depots
- Reconciliation of internal accounts
- Process phone credit card payments through Bpoint or available Eftpos terminals.
- With direction from the Credit Controller, monitor the ageing of debtors and take action to collect debts outside of our trading terms as per Sea Swifts Accounts Receivable Policy & Procedure Manual.
- In conjunction with the Credit Controller, ensure accounts that are well beyond our trading terms are placed on stop credit and monitored as per Sea Swifts Accounts Receivable Policy & Procedure Manual.
- Prepare management reports on ageing and other Accounts Receivable reports on a regular basis.
- Run weekly credit card runs, fortnightly direct debit runs and follow up on declined transactions.
- Prepare and distribute monthly AR statements to customers.
- Investigating and resolving account enquiries.
- Liaise with Sales and Customer Service on account issues.
- Assist with end-of-month tasks and duties to meet reporting deadlines and compliance requirements.
What is required for the role:
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles and Practices
- High level Microsoft Office skills
- SAP B1 experience desirable
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks in a high volume, fast paced environment
- Good communication skills
- High level administration skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental principles
