Our vibrant Centre runs community activities, provides care to people living in their own homes, independent living retirement village and social housing units. We are dedicated to assisting seniors and people with disabilities to continue to live independently and with dignity within their community.
About the job
Our Community Services team is inviting people to apply for an Activities Officer position. This could be Full-Time, however Part-Time could be considered for the right candidate.
The key duties are to:
- assist to create and deliver small group activities, outings, events and community programs;
- encourage active participation, independence and the wellbeing of seniors, people with disabilities, community members and retirement village residents;
- oversee other people involved in activities, including staff, students, volunteers and venue hirers;
- support clients with their care requirements and activities of daily living;
- provide safe transportation of clients to and from the Centre and on outings;
- adhere to safety protocols, including assessment of venues and emergency procedures; and
- maintain records and documentation, including the bookings register and client notes.
To be considered, you will possess the following attributes:
- Certificate III in Aged Care, Community Care, Disability Services or similar
- current C Class drivers licence and ability to obtain a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) licence
- ability to drive a 10 or 12 seater bus (familiarisation provided)
- experience in running a range of community activities and events
- computer proficiency
- strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal)
- effective organisational and problem solving skills
- satisfactory national police certificate
