About the Opportunity
As An Activities Officer, you will actively contribute to running the structured and unstructured programs for adults and ensure excellent levels of service in the assigned responsibilities. This is a key role in helping to maintain a positive and healthy community.

What you’ll be doing
- Managing and conducting programs and activities for detainees. This could be recreational, educational, life skills and or leisure activities, depending on your skill set and the detainees needs.
- Communicating with staff and detainees regarding activities to make sure detainees can access the activities of their choice efficiently.
- Conducting a needs analysis and then producing specific programs based on needs of the class.
About you – Your ideal skills and experience:
- Experience in conducting structured and unstructured programs for adults.
- Hold and maintain HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificates with at least 6 months currency on the certificate.
- Maintain a current Working with Children certificate in accordance with the relevant state or territory child protection legislation (as required).
- Experience in an associated discipline such as sports and recreation, social/community work and/or learning and development.
- Experience in planning appropriate resourcing for activities.
This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a Federal police check as an essential selection component for this role.
