We are working hard to create an inclusive workplace and develop Indigenous careers.The teamThe purpose of the Actuarial & Investment Services team is:We partner to achieve better decision-making through data-driven insights, to support sustainable growth and stewardship for our business, and value for our customers.The roleThis role will focus on assisting maintaining, enhancing, and building new forecasting models, experience analysis, and actuals vs expected analyses. Additionally, the role will include preparing data and ad hoc analyses to enable the generation of actionable insights and to drive better decisions.This role will play an integral role in supporting the Actuarial & Investment Services Team at Medibank to meet its obligations and contribute to the success of the organisation.Your key accountabilities will include assisting with:
- Forecasting, including assisting with the development of the annual corporate plan, periodic forecasts, and monthly spot forecasts.
- Volume, revenue and claims analytics, including assisting with advancing the understanding of these to inform business decisions, and to set forecasting assumptions.
- Participating in the development and maintenance of forecasting tools, with a focus on robust, timely and accurate production that meets the business' evolving needs.
- Partnering and business advisory.
- Analytics, actuarial, statistics qualifications; student member of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or similar overseas actuarial body) or similar professional body.
- Strong financial modelling and data skills (advanced MS Excel skills, SQL). Knowledge in coding, such as R (or python), is an advantage, but not a requirement.
