The opportunity
This is an exceptional opportunity for early-career Actuarial professionals to join one of Australia's leading insurers in the role of Actuarial Analyst. With multiple roles available working across short- and long-tail products within the NZ and Pacific portfolios. Join the dynamic Actuarial group at NZPAC, where you'll have the opportunity to also gain valuable exposure and hands-on experience in pricing and data analytics.
Your new role
Support the Senior Actuarial Manager to perform end-to-end reserving work for various products
Perform monthly BAU tasks and other Actuarial analysis as required
Be the 'go-to person' for data analysis and support to senior Actuarial professionals, enabling the team to provide meaningful insights to the business
In this role, during the first year, you'll play a vital part in supporting the pricing team during a team member's secondment to another role, ensuring the smooth functioning of operations and maintaining momentum in our pricing strategies and initiatives.
Continuously seek process improvement and be part of the QBE Actuarial modernisation journey
To be successful in this role, you will have:
You have obtained a tertiary qualification in actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics or equivalent relevant disciplines.
Your experience will include proven Actuarial expertise within General Insurance, in reserving or pricing, and are ready to take the next step in your career with a leading global insurer known for providing career development and progression opportunities.
You have exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills and an ability to generate outside of the box creative solutions rather than following precedence.
You will also have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and can utilise these to liaise with stakeholders at varying levels across the business to influence best practice outcomes.
