We’re looking for a dynamic Addiction Medicine Specialist to join the team at Western Health Drug Health Services. This Specialist Addiction Service offers innovative and diverse programs for Adults, Women’s and Children’s Services, Youth and Family Services, Residential Withdrawal and Rehabilitation Services and Addiction Medicine Services.
This 12-month fixed term position provides specialist Addiction Medicine support to clients of Drug Health Services, Western Health and the North West Pharmacotherapy Network.
The role of the Consultant is to provide high quality clinical care and clinical leadership for the patients and staff of the Partner Provider Service. The consultants will be involved in partner service engagement, model of care development, clinical governance, quality improvement, provision of clinical care, training model development and clinical supervision.

- You will have recognised qualifications as a Consultant Addiction Medicine (FAChAM).
- You will have well-developed professional communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to professional development of self and others. A demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and delivery of evidence-based best care is essential. You will contribute to a positive organisational culture and role model professionalism with respect to patient dignity and compassion, effective communication, and ethical clinical care.
- You will actively participate in teaching and supervising Junior Medical Staff, Medical Students and the broader team.
- You will be involved in service evaluation and audits and will be encouraged to be involved in research activities.
