Trayne Consulting is currently recruiting an experienced Assistant Accountant / Accounts Officer to join our Client’s Gold Coast team, located in Bundall. Our client is an established and fast growing, mortgage-backed lending and investment business, that prides itself on its ability to provide straightforward finance solutions to its network of clients across Australia
To meet our client’s needs, we are looking for an experienced, self-motivator who communicates effectively, can prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a high volume, fast-paced environment whilst meeting tight deadlines.
This is a full-time permanent role working Monday - Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm requiring flexibility to work extended hours on occasion to meet the needs of the business. This role will see you working closely with the Management Accountant whilst reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
The key duties of the role are as listed, but not limited to:
- Provide accurate and timely processing for the Loans Team in:
- Accounts receivable & payable
- High volume data entry of manual transactions into Xero
- Credit card & bank reconciliation and investigations.
- Processing & reconciliation of loan transactions.
- Assist with funder & interest calculations, payout figure calculations, loan closure procedures and funder calculations.
- Month end and year end reporting plus ad hoc reporting
- Comprehensive book-keeping; including recording financial transactions, statement reconciliation, report preparation and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Assist with audits to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Payroll preparation for approximately 20 staff
- Accounting administration including invoicing general accounts matters for the business.
- Answer internal and external enquiries delivering "Customer Excellence" in every interaction.
- Continuously look for the 1% improvement in regard to people performance, process improvement, outcome focus, whilst going the extra mile for the business.
- Carry out general administrative duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you must have the following proven key attributes:
- Knowledge, experience or have a passion for the Finance/Investment, Property or Banking/Credit industry is highly regarded
- Extensive Australian experience in high-volume Accounts/Bookkeeping, including AR, AP, Payroll, and Reconciliations
- Good understanding of journal and loan accounting as well as accounting terminology
- Strong Microsoft office skills including Word, Excel, & Outlook is imperative
- Numeracy skills and experience with Xero Accounting Software
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and communicate effectively about deadlines and expectations
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
- Effective time management, organizational, and planning abilities
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all time
The successful candidate must be willing to undertake a police check before commencing this role.
Our client close for 2 weeks over the Christmas/New Year period which will be taken as part of your annual leave entitlements.
