About the role
This is an office based role with the main focus on tour bookings and customer service. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of daily tours including sales, tour operations and administration duties. Liaising with other staff to ensure the timely delivery of a high-quality tourism experience.
Key responsibilities
- Selling tours over the phone, via email enquiries and direct to our guests at the office.
- Effectively managing the daily tour land based operations making sure tours run on schedule.
- Provide courteous customer service to ensure efficient resolution of all guest enquiries.
- Accurate loading of tour bookings and preparation of daily manifests.
- Meeting sales and service targets.
- Stock control including ordering and collecting.
- Assistance with general office duties as required.
- Effective organisation of a small team, maintaining a culture that promotes positive internal interactions.
- Supervising the office in the absence of the Manager.
- Maintaining the business's professional image.
Essential skills
- At least 1 year previous experience in a tour bookings or front office role is essential. Do not apply if you have no experience.
- The ability to 'make the sale' and build relationships with our guests quickly, with a professional yet friendly manner.
- Work well unsupervised and within a team environment making timely decisions.
- Computer literate and a strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and use of both Mac and Windows computer systems.
- Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Available to work on a rotating roster, Monday to Sunday.
- Be fluent in English – both written and oral and have excellent presentation.
- Current manual C class Australian drivers licence.
Desirable skills
- Marketing experience.
- Previous Supervisor role.
- LR driver's licence.
Applicants should be reliable & committed to working to a professional standard, be enthusiastic & energetic. We are looking for someone who can think on their feet and work well under pressure with the ability to drive sales.
This part time position commences in late March or early April (depending on candidate) through to the end of October. An extended position with reduced hours during the low season months of November to March is available for the right person, plus the offer to carry on the role for our 2024 season. Position is based on a 4 or 5 day week with approximately 30 to 40 hours per week during Apr-Oct. We are open to flexible arrangements for the right person.
