Legal Services delivers key services within Council through the provision of legal advice, litigation, drafting and reviewing of contracts, and conveyancing. The Legal Services department is also responsible for the enterprise risk management framework, internal audit and insurance claims management in order to ensure Council’s financial and operational controls are carried out in an effective, efficient and ethical manner.
About the role
The provision of office and administrative support to the functions of the Legal Services Department and for the provision of information to the public in accordance with legislative requirements, Council’s business rules, procedures and policy. Also responsible for assisting the Right to Information Officer.
Essential criteria
A TAFE certificate in Office Administration or equivalent or solid experience in administration duties
Attention to detail and accuracy in handling confidential information.
Proficiency in using office software such as SharePoint.
Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Well-developed negotiation, problem solving and decision-making skills
Proven experience in providing office and administrative support.
Desirable criteria
Knowledge of the functions of Local Government (including providing information to the public)
Experience in working in a highly regulated environment or within a legislative framework
Knowledge and experience or ability to learn applying the Government Information Public Access Act (GIPA).
Salary: $65,332.00 - $75,625.00 per annum, plus 11% Superannuation.
This position requires the worker to be double vaccinated against COVID-19 or to hold a medical contraindication certificate.
