The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) was officially formed in 1960 but has grown steadily from being a sole aeromedical service to now providing a professional and dedicated team who deliver a holistic health care service across most of the local government municipalities in Tasmania.
We work in partnership with general practitioners, allied health professionals and local service providers to deliver physical health and mental health programs, as well as an award-winning outreach dental program. Our vision is to improve the health outcomes for all Tasmanians with a specific focus on remote and rural areas.
We are one of six RFDS operating sections (Central Operations, QLD section, South Eastern section, Victorian section, Western Operations and Tasmania section) which make up RFDS Australia. About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administration Officer (Operations) to join our team based in Launceston. In this position you will be required to provide high level administrative and clerical support to the CEO, the Administrative Team and across other Primary Health Care Programs as required. The role also administratively supports the RFDS Board of Directors as “Board Secretary”, so some knowledge and experience of attending meetings, basic agenda preparation and minute taking will be required. The role further oversees the RFDS’s small Vehicle Fleet, including allocation of keys, fuel cards, arrange servicing/maintenance, etc.
The position is full time working a 76-hour fortnight, based in the Launceston CBD.
The successful candidate will have
- A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
- Excellent word-processing skills with experience in and knowledge of a range of applications including Word, Excel and data entry.
- Experience and proven administration ability and skills including minute taking and agenda preparation as well as basic understanding of invoice processing.
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and prioritise workloads to achieve efficient and effective clerical support service.
- Ability and commitment to maintain confidentiality of work records and information.
- Ability and commitment to work within and contribute to a cohesive team environment.
Essential Qualifications & Experience - (Selection Criteria)
- Qualification in Business Administration Cert 3 or higher (or relevant experience, minimum 2 years).
- Demonstrated experience and business skills with the ability to produce high quality outcome.
- Proven strong leadership skills and supervisory skills in an office environment, (this role oversees our Business Admin Trainee).
- Demonstrated capacity to assess priorities, plans workloads and work effectively to meet timeframes.
- Ability to provide exception customer service to support our strong brand
- Reliable with high integrity and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work after hours to attend Board Meetings (6 weekly approx.).
Travel
This role may require some travel during work hours between our Paterson Street Office, Launceston and The RFDS Hanger at Western Junction to attend to Vehicle Fleet Management.
