Emerald Hospital is located 300kms west of the Queensland coastline. The population of the surrounding community is approximately 28,000 with 15,000 at Emerald. There are two small hospitals within 100kms, located at Blackwater and Springsure. Emerald Hospital is a 32-bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across acute, community and primary care.
Our vision, outlined in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders Strategy is for Emerald Hospital to be the Central Highlands hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and some surgical services. We will invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.
About the role:
To provide an efficient booking service for the Emerald Hospital operating suites, with a focus on elective surgery waiting list management. Schedule and notify patients of pre-operative appointments, elective surgery bookings and arrangements. The position provides a high level of customer service, demonstrating understanding, empathy, patience and a positive attitude within a team environment.
About you:
The ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- High level oral communication and interpersonal skills incorporating the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of health service providers and the general public, utilising discretion and confidentiality in the management of information.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team member to achieve the goals of the work unit and organisation.
- Ability to effectively use or quickly acquire the ability to use ORMIS, HBCIS and EMS.
- High level keyboard, clerical and administrative skills in terms of speed and accuracy, with attention to detail in undertaking all tasks.
Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $75,848 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary between $37.68 - $41.90 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
