The Heart Research Institute (HRI) is an internationally recognised Medical Research Institute that performs ground-breaking cardiovascular research from our state-of-the-art facilities located in Newtown. For over 20 years, The HRI has been one of Australia's leading research organisations working to detect, prevent and treat heart disease. Through our research, The HRI has made significant findings that have changed the way we live with and treat cardiovascular disease.
We are seeking an experienced Administration Officer to provide support to our Research Grants and Contracts Manager. You will assist with grants administration with respect to grants applications and awarded Research Grants.
The successful candidate will work closely with our researchers and develop good working relationships with them. The role will also be a liaison point for matters between HRI staff and the University Research offices. You will also be required to manage and maintain a grants database, and develop the Internal Grants newsletter.
This is a casual role, expected to be approximately 2 days per week located at our Eliza Street building.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in an administrative support role
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- The ability to effectively liaise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders of scientific and non-scientific backgrounds
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong administrative skills including database management experience
- Experience working in the medical research, university or not-for-profit sectors will be highly regarded
- Project management skills would be desirable.
