About the Client
The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) promotes profitable agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries for Queensland. Working in fields relating to policy development, leading-edge science, biosecurity, fisheries, forestry management, trade and export.
With officers located across the state, Biosecurity Queensland works to mitigate the risks and impacts of animal and plant pests and diseases and weeds to the economy, the environment, social amenity and human health. Queensland deals with more biosecurity incursions than any other state or territory in Australia.
What you will be doing
Working within the Biosecurity Queensland's National Electric Ant Eradication Program, you will predominately undertake data entry into departmental databases and office-based systems, filing and organisation of document related facilities. You will have strong attention to detail and can work autonomously under direction
Your role will include:
Provide administrative support functions including: distributing mail and overseeing generic inboxes, printing, photocopying and collating materials.
Provide basic research services and summarisation tasks from straightforward sources
Conduct routine data entry and error checking in IT systems
Maintain accurate records including collating and filing documents electronically
Complete allocated work as per set guidelines and procedure
Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Support team by participating in event organisation
Ability to communicate and liaise effectively to internal and external clients, including the ability to respond effectively to enquiries either in person or by telephone
What you will need
Current QLD Licence
Current resume with 2 x work relates references
Administration experience a bonus
