About the Role:

Join our dynamic Acute Allied Health Services Teams working at either Canberra Hospital or North Canberra Hospital Emergency Departments / Urgent Care Clinics.

This rewarding position offers an Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist the opportunity to provide advanced clinical expertise and practice across a range of clinical areas for patients who present with musculoskeletal concerns. You will be valued as a subject matter expert and key member of our innovative and friendly team.

Clinical supervision and professional development are provided through team structures, supervision support, competency-based assessments and professional development opportunities.

We would like to invite Physiotherapists with a Post-Graduate Masters qualification and a minimum of 5 years clinical experience to apply for this opportunity.

You will also be supported to complete the Advanced Practice Training programme including financial costs of mandated external delivered education subjects.

On completion of this 12-month training position, staff employment classification may be assessed and upgraded to Health Professional Level 5, pending endorsement of Health Professional Work Level Standards and broadbanding provisions within the pending Enterprise Agreement.

Successful candidates will be required to participate in a shift roster pattern of work including evenings and weekends. Rostering patterns are service/site specific and based on employment FTE.

Canberra Hospital Expansion Project – CHS is constructing a new critical services building called ‘Building 5’ which is a 44,000sqm nine storey building specifically designed to deliver state-of-the-art acute clinical services at the Canberra Hospital. Building 5 is the largest healthcare infrastructure project undertaken in the Territory’s history and it represents the largest clinical and operational change program to ever be implemented by Canberra Health Services. Building 5 integrates with a number of existing buildings at the Campus including Building 1 and Building 2, to facilitate a seamless public thoroughfare, patient transportation and back-of-house logistics distribution.

North Canberra Hospital - As of 3 July 2023 Calvary Public Hospital Bruce transitioned to CHS and became North Canberra Hospital. The transition will deliver a health system networked under one provider and will provide increased workforce opportunities for staff at both CHS sites. The ACT Government will be building a new northside hospital on the existing hospital campus in Bruce to meet the growing health care needs of our community, with construction to commence mid-decade providing more beds, increased services, and increased career opportunities.
