As an Advanced Perfusionist, you will play a crucial role in providing perfusion services essential for the safe care of patients undergoing cardio-pulmonary bypass and related procedures. Reporting to the Director of the Cardiac Surgery Clinical Perfusion and Quality and Outcomes Department, you will demonstrate professional leadership and expertise in various specialised areas including research, service improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
About the Role:
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in strategic planning, safety, quality initiatives, and accreditation processes.
- Contribute as a perfusion specialist to Department of Health reviews.
- Lead projects aimed at enhancing patient outcomes in cardiac surgery and related disciplines.
- Oversee and mentor other perfusion staff in evidence-based practice and research activities.
- Collaborate with senior professional staff from various disciplines locally, nationally, and internationally.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience in perfusion services, particularly in cardiac surgery and ECMO.
- Extensive recorded minimum case load for a minimum of 1000 cases or seven years.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience in analysis of opportunities and needs for research and service improvement.
