About the role
- Contribute to patient care by providing advanced clinical support pharmaceutical services delegated by, and under the supervision of, a Clinical Lead Pharmacist or Senior Administration Officer where appropriate.
- Undertake a range of activities to assist in the provision of an efficient and effective pharmacy service to the patients and families of Metro North Hospital and Health Service.

- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate, supervise and liaise effectively, with an understanding of the scope of practice in a complex and demanding work environment
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan, perform and evaluate quality improvement activities under the guidance of a pharmacist
- Demonstrated ability to provide a defined range of advanced pharmacy services to people with variable health literacy, under the supervision of a pharmacist
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills and the ability to work autonomously where appropriate
- Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviours
- Proven ability to prepare the PBS claim including collating and recording scripts ensuring all are fully completed, including knowledge of paperless claims and resubmitted scripts
- Proven ability to provide procurement and financial services
- High level of computer literacy including the ability to contribute to the development of databases, complete data entry and maintain accuracy and integrity of information in databases
- Proven ability to record, receipt and process cheque and credit card payments for pharmaceuticals issued to patients
- Demonstrated ability to provide general Pharmacy Assistant services to the Pharmacy Department, including dispensing, imprest maintenance, ward-based clinical support and stock management duties
- Maintain accurate patient information by contacting Medicare Australia and Department of Veterans' Affairs as required for patients details and enter data into HBCIS and iPharmacy dispensing software
- Ability to follow up outstanding invoices
- Ability to prioritise workload and make decisions
