Provide high level professional leadership, management and strategic direction for Allied Health models of care, workforce planning and development for Allied Health across multiple service groups and facilities of the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Allied Health Research Practitioner – Advanced (Service Improvement Officer) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Develop and lead a strategic framework for coordinated workforce planning and development, education and research for Allied Health across the District
- Lead, develop, implement and evaluate workforce solutions including innovative models of care, recruitment and retention strategies and development of future generations of Allied Health to ensure supply
- Coordinate collaboration with tertiary institutions to maximise a work ready Allied Health workforce
- Employ effective change management through utilisation of high-level influencing, advocacy, negotiation and conflict management skills with all stakeholders
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A qualification in Audiology, Cardiac Science, Dental, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, Environmental Health, Music Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Neurophysiology, Occupational Therapy, Oral Health Therapy, Orthoptics, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Psychology, Radiography, Respiratory Science, Sleep Technician and Science, Social Work, Sonography or Speech Pathology.
- A research track record and/or a higher degree in research qualification
- Registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for registration with the appropriate professional body
- Blue Card
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary part time (up to 18 months, with possibility of extension, 30.4 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $70.99 - $74.07 per hour

The Allied Health Research Team sits under the Director of Allied Health Research, Allied Health and Rehabilitation Services in the Emergency and Specialty Services Division. The team leads and supports research activity including: the development of research capacity and capability for Allied Health professionals across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service for evidence-based delivery of healthcare.
