Our Federal Government client is looking for an Adviser at the APS6 level for their Grants Administration team. This is a 3 - 6 month opportunity (with the possibility of extension). The ideal candidate is culturally aware and passionate about understanding the key issues faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. A background with extensive experience in grants, online data management systems, administration or projects is highly desirable.

The key focus of this role will be to support grants administration through an in depth knowledge of:
- the grant life cycle
- the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013
- financial delegations
The role requires a solid understanding of financial concepts and the ability to use online data management systems.
You will have the ability to assess and resolve more complex and sensitive issues that impact programs or agreements, and develop creative solutions in partnership with stakeholders. Our ideal candidates are passionate about better understanding the key issues faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Candidates should exhibit sound judgement and professionalism, and have the capacity to work flexibly and responsively to achieve results. Additionally candidates will be required to provide expert advice and recommendations which comply with relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
Profile
- Demonstrated analytical, research and problem solving skills.
- Ability to provide advice on the management of grant agreements with varying levels of complexity and identify potential risks to relevant internal stakeholders when appropriate.
- Ability to engage effectively with internal (Regional Offices, Program and Policy Areas) and external (grant recipients) stakeholders regarding the management of agreements e.g. service delivery and provider capability risks, performance reports, grant payment instalments.
- Ability to identify emerging opportunities or issues, and respond quickly to competing priorities as they emerge.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyse performance and financial reports.
- Demonstrated flexibility, good judgement and political nous
Ability to support project management activities would be highly regarded.
