Experienced Advisor - HSEQ required to join the team at our Gwalia Project on a family friendly 8 day on / 6 day off roster.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Provide a high degree of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) support to the operational departments of the site
- Assist with the overall implementation of WHS systems, strategies & initiatives
- Demonstrate WHS leadership and improve the WHS culture through developing line capability in delivering their WHS accountabilities
- Continually review, propose and where approved contribute to the development of improved WHS systems and procedures to optimise WHS services provided
- Provide coaching and mentoring to supervisors, employees, and contractors in all areas of WHS, behavioural and culture change, and leadership development
- Engage with operational personnel to provide support, coaching and guidance on effective implement of Macmahon's WHS System
- Conduct monthly environmental inspections
- Provide facilitation, assistance, and guidance in incident investigations, WHS meetings, WHS inspections of equipment and task observations on the site
- Ensure compliance with WHS regulations as well as company policies and procedures
- Lead, facilitate and participate in risk management processes, including maintenance and review of site Risk Register
- Conduct, manage and co-ordinate site Periodical HSEQ Inspections as listed in the HSEQ Activity Planner
- Qualifications in WHS (Minimum Diploma)
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an WHS practitioner in the mining industry
- Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role within an Underground mining environment
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Extensive knowledge of underground operations
- Working knowledge of the WHS Act 2020 and WHS Regulations 2022
- Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- A 'can do' attitude with a strong desire to succeed in the role and a passion for WHS
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, orgnaisation, communication, computer and engagement skills
- Experience in WHS management systems such as INCONTROL
- Qualification in incident investigation such as ICAM
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence or equivalent
