Leading Hand Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic | Gladstone Workshop
The Role:
Toll Group are seeking an Afternoon Shift Trade Qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic for a Leading Hand role to work within our Gladstone Workshop. Full Time Permanent position on offer working on a Monday to Friday basis from 1.00pm - 9.00pm.

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Diagnosing, repair and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, diesel systems, auto electrical, air conditioning and hydraulic repairs in accordance with requirements detailed on job cards
• Be available to be on rostered rotating shifts and for reasonable overtime.
• All general servicing tasks as required
• To maintain quality and urgency in the work preformed
• Operate in compliance to the NHVAS scheme
• Always Maintain a high degree of safety and in-line with HSE policies + procedures
• Ensuring the team functions effectively and team members are trained and developed
• Ensuring that work is planned and is progressed through the workshop so that the minimum of delay results and that high quality customer satisfaction is maintained

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Possess a Trade Qualification as a Heavy vehicle Diesel Mechanic minimum certificate (III)
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of diesel, petrol, auto electrical, air conditioning and hydraulic diagnostic repair
• Experience in people management
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with people at various levels from shop floor to senior management
• Customer service orientation - detailed understanding and strong curiosity about our customers and what adds value to them
• Leadership skills include strong motivation, team building and influencing skills

Technical/Professional Skills

• Ability to make critical decisions under pressure while maintaining the safety and wellbeing of staff that they are responsible for.
• Good team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to inspire the confidence of others and to manage the work of others
• Able to liaise effectively with Workshop Manager, colleagues, customer and staff.
• Committed to providing excellent levels of customer service, including maintaining regular communication with superiors and the workforce
• The ability to see the inter-relationship of duties and responsibilities
• Well-developed leadership skills
• The ability to work in a team environment, as a team leader
• Personal standards of honesty and integrity
