The Afternoon Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring production targets are met by providing support and direction to teams. The successful incumbent will drive a sustainable operation with focus on continuous improvement to deliver all safety, quality and production targets in accordance with quality standards.
This includes:
- Lead safety by example through consistent actions and zero tolerance for unsafe conditions and behaviours.
- Support daily site meeting with prepared WIP report, advising current status of issues and actions carried out.
- Supervise production to meet customer requirements and to optimize production efficiencies in keeping with meeting customer and business requirements.
- Encourage and lead employee engagement through open two-way communications and developing and fostering structured improvement activities.
- Perform 21 point checks/Audits on SOP's, print, glue, slots, MD shear, etc and discuss with crews.
- Oversee all administrative functions eg payroll submissions, to be completed in an accurate and timely manner

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;
- Diploma level minimum (Frontline management preferred)
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP and Kiwi Plan an additional advantage).
- Organizational skills - negotiating, influencing, problem solving, planning, decision making, goal setting, and coaching.
- Computer skills - SAP, e-mail, MS Word and Excel - basic or higher.
- 5 years' experience in a manufacturing supervisory role or similar
