The Trainee will work across the Aged Care and Disability Services primarily with the focus of engaging members of the Aboriginal Community who are eligible for support both in the home and community. Support Workers are responsible for frontline delivery of services to individuals or within a group setting.
This can include to provide daily assistance to clients by supporting them to maintain independence to remain in their own homes, assist with recreational and leisure activities, provide assistance with homecare duties including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing/changing bed linen.
• Able to work efficiently and effectively and take direction from senior staff.
• Ability to exercise discretion at all times and uphold confidentially practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with both external and internal customers.
• Solve problems based on knowledge and experience.
• Strong organisational and coordinating skills. Administrative skills and managing resources to achieve targets within a timeframe as required.
Qualification/s:
Currently holds or a willingness to obtain a Certificate 4 in Home and Community or Aged Care.
Other Screening Requirements:
A current Driver’s License that allows you to drive in Australia.
A current Employee Working with Children Check card.
A current National Police Check.
COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate & Booster information or a valid medical exemption.
