- Lead the implementation of the Protective Security Framework.
- Use judgement and critical thinking to respond to security, facilities, fleet and sustainability matters across the directorate as they arise.
- Provide advice and prepare strategic and complex submissions, papers, briefs, and plans relating to security.
- Collaborate with officials from other directorates, the Commonwealth and other jurisdictions to enhance security policy outcomes.
- Lead a team of policy, project, and operational officers to achieve objectives by developing capability, mentoring staff, and fostering a sense of purpose.
Key Requirements
- Proven senior management experience, preferably leading policy development or projects.
- Demonstrated ability to engage across Government and forge relationships to develop informed policy solutions to complex matters.
- Demonstrated knowledge on security matters, including protective security.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated and highly developed strategic and critical thinking skills.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to prepare high quality written materials, including complex submission, papers, briefs and plans relating to security.
- Highly developed organisational skills, including the demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, determine priorities and meet deadlines.
- An understanding of the security policy and governance arrangements of the ACT Government is desirable.
