The Opportunity:
The Aeronautics team is seeking a proven senior leader with experience in driving business and operations improvements in a heavy aircraft maintenance environment.
This position organisationally aligns with the Maintenance Upgrade and Overhaul (MUO) team for the F-35 Sustainment, reporting to the Australian F-35 Program Director and MUO Execution Operations Senior Manager.
You will be the primary liaison with the Asia Pacific Regional Product Support Provider (PSP) leadership for all planning, execution, and reporting of depot-inducted aircraft, post-delivery modifications, repairs and inspections.
Some interstate and international travel may be required
What we are looking for:
- A proven senior leader with demonstrated experience in driving business and operations improvements in a heavy aircraft maintenance environment.
- Professional who has a track record of implementing operational excellence to deliver enhanced business performance in terms of organisational productivity, schedule, and cost.
- Experience in Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineering and/or lean manufacturing to support operational excellence would be well regarded.
- Relevant experience and qualifications in engineering, maintenance operations and business management
Day to day responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Oversees the successful implementation of all F-35 modification efforts at the site.
- Reviews and evaluates modification status reported by the team and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
- Ensures compliance with customer, company, and program procedures relative to aircraft maintenance, repair, and modifications.
- Provides PSP site leadership with a complete sight picture for F-35 modification, upgrade, and overhaul development, support planning, integration, and implementation.
- Representing LM during recurring meetings with the senior leadership (military and civilian) at the Regional Service Depo (RSD).
- Management tasks include, but are not limited to, oversight of all on-site contractor activities, planning and scheduling of work assignments for the on-site team, enforcement of safety and physical security procedures and directives, and management of labour charges and administrative documentation.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding and experience with leading and coordinating all aspects of the Air Vehicle (AV) depot sustainment
- Extensive background in planning depot level maintenance/modifications and executing Time Compliance Technical Directives (TCTD) or similar Technical Directives
- Experience leading a project or team in an aircraft maintenance environment
- Experience with in/out of scope work, Over & Above or Delay/Disruption processes
Desirable
- Experience and working knowledge with F-35 sustainment tools;
- Joint Technical Data (JTD), Product Data Manager (PDM), JSF Data Library (JDL), Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS), and
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) a plus.
- Knowledge and experience with F-35 program change/configuration management and associated change boards for processing change requests with retrofit implications.
- Experience with depot planning and operations strongly desired.
- Experience at multiple levels of maintenance, logistics, and support of 5th generation fighter aircraft preferred.
