Aje Lifestyle Technical Design Developer

We have a rare & exciting opportunity to join our Aje atelier team as the Lifestyle Tech Design Developer.

We are seeking a talented, highly organized & motivated individual who can combine their technical ability with creativity to develop beautifully crafted collections.

You will play a key role supporting the Lifestyle Design team from initial design concept to production stage and will work closely and collaboratively with the Garment Tech and production team.

The key responsibility of this role is to create and manage seasonal CADS & Tech packs whist effectively communicate with suppliers on construction and execution of collections as well as sourcing new design concepts to ensure the collections are successfully accomplished to the Aje creative brand vision, target margins & quality standards.

• Support the Aje Lifestyle design team from initial concept right through to Production.
• Creating and managing the update of Tech Packs; interpreting illustrations to create CADS & completing design details (cover sheets) and BOMS, ensuring information is updated throughout development stage to final production handover.
• Managing sourcing requests to suppliers in regards to embroidery techniques, speciality development of textiles and trims in accordance to timelines, costings and expectations of quality and aesthetic.
• Sourcing new design techniques from suppliers that relate back to Concept Brief.
• Communicating lab dip/strike-off feedback to suppliers and requesting additional submissions in accordance with critical path
• Creating and maintaining sketch overview boards: Scanning, colouring up sketches, and creating PDF physical and digital documents for Sketch Reviews.
• Creating and maintaining the option plan board in preparation of weekly meetings with merch team.
• Creating and maintaining work in progress design boards in preparation for design and range review & marketing meetings.
• Involved in fitting of protos
• Outlining product attributes of collection to marketing team
• Preparation of samples for key milestone meetings such as SMS and range reviews
• Managing the storage of seasonal textiles swatches, hardware and creating fabric library.
• Independently being aware and adhering to all critical path deadlines
• Managing both inhouse and external garment alterations in preparation of product reviews
• Inbound and outbound parcel management
• General office admin

• A strong appreciation, understanding and alliance of the Aje aesthetic.
• 2yrs experience in a similar role, preferably with a premium apparel Designer brand.
• Experience with offshore manufacturing
• Proficiency and efficiency of creating CADs and tech packs.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work to critical path deadlines
• Excellent communication skills with the capability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
