The role
Pembroke is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and suitably qualified applicant to undertake the permanent, full time role of All Purpose Tradesperson. Reporting to the Property Coordinator, the All Purpose Tradesperson will undertake general repairs and maintenance tasks relating to renovations, upgrades and smaller new works. They will also undertake specialist metal fabrication repairs or new works.
The successful candidate will:
- undertake general maintenance of all school buildings, properties and grounds.
- undertake minor renovations to school buildings including classrooms, offices, boarding and residential properties.
- undertake specialist metal fabrication repairs or new works.
- repair furniture and fittings and undertake small furniture manufacture or fabrication.
- undertake minor building project construction.
- relieve and assist other members of the Building and Grounds Department.
- assist in the set-up of school functions, meetings and classrooms.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have:
- experience working across multiple trades.
- demonstrated experience in metal fabrication or a similar industry.
- demonstrated knowledge of relevant WHS issues
- strong and clear communication skills
- solutions-focussed, positive and collaborative approach
- willingness and ability to undertake the moderate physical demands of the position
- basic computer literacy
- current Working with Children Check and driver’s licence
- current or willingness to obtain Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (previously Reporting Abuse and Neglect) Training certification and First Aid qualifications.
