The role:
An exciting position working with Allied Health and other multidisciplinary team members in the acute setting at Royal Hobart Hospital.
The successful candidate will assist therapists and other therapy assistants with preparation for/completion of prescribed treatment of patients, including transportation of patients to and from treatment areas, evaluate patient progress, communicate treatment outcomes to the therapist and document in patient’s medical progress notes.
The role also requires candidates to exercise initiative and independent judgment in undertaking delegated tasks under supervision including assisting clinicians in the rehabilitation and/or treatment of clients, preparation of equipment for use in treatment and other related tasks.

Seeking enthusiastic Allied Health Assistants to join our Allied Health team, which includes the areas of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Social Work and other Allied Health services across the acute setting.

Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $65,236 - $68,925 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent qualification or a commitment to attain this qualification;
Or; - Tertiary student of a relevant and approved AHP program of study at a recognised tertiary institution
- Current Driver’s Licence
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
