The role:
The North West Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Allied Health Assistant to join their team, providing assistance with the daily functioning of Nutrition and Dietetic department at the hospital. The person we're looking for must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to demonstrate they are proactive and resourceful.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Dietitians at the hospital and will undertake a range of clinical and administrative tasks. These tasks will include nutrition screening, monitoring patients progress towards reaching their nutrition goals, weighing patients, ordering special food items as well as range of clinical tasks (e.g. stock ordering, answering the phone, auditing, updating spreadsheets and databases). Full training and close support will be provided to the successful candidate.

This role may suit someone wanting to work 5 hours per day, 3 days a week (rather than a full day), giving you access to unique flexibility and fantastic work/life balance.
Details of Appointment
Fixed term, part time, day worker position working 30.4 hours per fortnight, commencing from June 2024 until March 2025.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $65,236 - $68,925 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent qualification or a commitment to attain this qualification;
Or; - Tertiary student of a relevant and approved AHP program of study at a recognised tertiary institution
- Current Driver’s Licence
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:
- Conviction checks in the following areas:
- crimes of violence
- sex related offences
- serious drug offences
- crimes involving dishonesty
- serious traffic offences
- Identification check
- Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
