An exciting opportunity currently exists to lead the Podiatry and Diabetes Foot Service at Western Health. This is a full-time maternity leave position from April 2024.
The Podiatry Department provides service across Western Health including Footscray, Sunshine and Williamstown Hospitals. Podiatry deliver care to admitted and non-admitted services across the continuum of care with a focus on acute high-risk foot complications. The Diabetes Foot Service is an accredited High-Risk Foot service which provides coordinated, multidisciplinary high risk foot care at Footscray Hospital. The Podiatry manager provides clinical governance for all podiatrists at WH. Podiatry and DFS have a strong emphasis on professional development, quality improvement, research and excellence in clinical practice.
To be successful in this role you must meet the following criteria:
Completion of a professional entry degree in Podiatry
Current registration with Podiatry Board of Australia (via Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency)
Completion of (or progress towards) an additional formal post graduate qualification related to the role
Demonstrated achievement in provision of expert clinical service in Diabetes Foot Disease and other aspects of tertiary based podiatry care
Highly developed organisation and time management skills
Highly developed interpersonal, written and electronic communication skills
Demonstrated achievement in leadership and supervision within area of responsibility to ensure effective service provision/program delivery
Proficient use of word processing, database and presentation software as well as internet and varied information technology
Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance and workforce development with demonstrated interest in developing a skilled, effective, flexible, fit-for-purpose and sustainable Allied Health workforce
