Job description

As part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality Mental Health services, the Allied Health Professional:

  • Undertakes the delivery of quality care to clients of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multi-disciplinary framework.
  • Provides a specialist assessment and treatment service to clients of CAMHS and their families or carers.
  • Promotes community awareness in relation to Mental Health and acts as a consultant to other agencies with regard to the support and management of clients with Mental Health needs.

The Role

  1. Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through the provision of assessment, case management and individual therapies, including specialised therapies for clients and their families or carers.
  2. Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment interventions for clients with major and complex Mental Health problems, including the development and implementation of specialised treatment programs.
  3. Function as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.
  4. Prepare specialised reports as required.
  5. Consult and liaise with the broader health system including GP’s, other Agencies and families and carers to optimise service effectiveness and efficiency and continuity of care.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Community Team: 

The CAMHS Community Team works with children, young people under 18 years old and their families to deliver high level evidence based Mental Health treatment. We are a diverse multidisciplinary team with an excellent working culture with a strong emphasis on reflective supervision and ongoing professional development. The CAMHS service is currently undergoing an exciting period of reform – so there has never been a better time to join the team!

Details of Appointment

Permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $106,966 - $118,114 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia and Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia; or
  2. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia and Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia; or
  3. Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is a full member of AASW or is eligible for membership with the AASW; or
  4. Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia and is a full member of Speech Pathology Australia or is eligible for membership with Speech Pathology Australia
  5. Current Working with Children Registration.

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  1. Current Driver’s Licence.
  2. Post graduate experience in Mental Health in relation to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Conviction checks in the following areas:

  2. sex related offences
  3. serious drug offences
  4. crimes involving dishonesty
  1. Identification check
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
