The Allied Health Professional - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (Hospital Clinical Liaison Team) works within a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated services to young people and their carers, undertaking a triage, crisis, intake and assessment role. The role is involved in the development and implementation of care planning for designated clients in both the community and the Emergency Department (ED).
The Role:
- Provide discipline specific clinical expertise, supportive advice and clinical care across the broader community including in-reach into the ED as required, based on best practice principles and legal and professional requirements, using specialist assessment and screening tools to deliver improved outcomes for patients presenting with mental health concerns and/or addiction-related comorbidities.
- Provide treatment recommendations and specialist support to the multidisciplinary team, other Health Professionals and community support organisations as required and assist with clinical decision making and the planning, implementation and evaluation of care given to mental health patients to facilitate a person-centred and recovery focused approach.
- Provide support and psycho-education as appropriate and involve consumers and their families/significant others in the identification of their needs, formulation of goals, development of care plans and the implementation of care.
- Facilitate access to a range of appropriate community and inpatient services to ensure patients receive the right support in the right place and at the right time. Provide comprehensive handovers and coordinate quality and safe transfer/discharge processes.

The CAMHS South Consultant Liaison team provides a 7 day per week expert consultation to children and young consumers presenting to, or currently admitted to the Royal Hobart Hospital with mental health concerns. The team works collaboratively with other Health Professionals and stakeholders to ensure best outcomes for this population. The team is currently undergoing a period of expansion, and now is an exciting time to join us!

Details of Appointment
Permanent full time shift-worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP/June 2024
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $106,966 - $118,114 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
- Please note that access to salaries beyond $115,573 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
- Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
- Satisfactory completion of an approved Allied Health Professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or, in the case of self-regulated Allied Health professions, full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association
- Current Working with Children Registration

- Holds, or is working towards, relevant tertiary qualifications
- Two or more years’ postgraduate clinical experience
