About the Role
The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Western Health provides services for more than 30,000 surgical procedures and more than 5,500 deliveries a year. With the exception of Cardiac, all surgical specialities are represented. In addition, the Anaesthetic Department runs a busy acute and chronic pain service, teaching program and is actively involved in ongoing research and audit.
The Department employs 36 Registrars at any one time - rotating through the North Western and Southern Rotational Programs and Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine Training Schemes.
The Department has seven (7) training positions available for advanced anaesthetic registrars. Advanced anaesthetic registrars are selected up to a maximum of seven (7) full year equivalent positions. There is a possibility that some of these positions will include a rotation to Monash Health with a view to gaining cardiac and neuroanaesthesia experience.
To be Successful in this Role you:
- Hold a MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification
- Have current medical registration with AHPRA or the ability to gain such registration before commencement of the clinical placement
- Have completed at least two years of anaesthetic training
