In your role as an Analyst you will play a key role in the national Credit & Portfolio Management team (C&P) which sits within Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB), supporting the origination and management of new and existing corporate and institutional customers in Australia.
The focus industries for this role will be within the Resources, Energy, Utilities and Infrastructure sectors. These sectors are dynamic and crucial to the ever changing landscape of Australia's economy.
The broader C&P team plays an important role in achieving the Bank's risk & return targets through conducting annual credit reviews and credit monitoring in accordance with the Bank's internal procedures and delivering on a number of strategic and balance sheet focused tasks and assessments.
This role is an integral part of this function through the successful completion of a range of day to day tasks, including: the management of customer Credit & portfolio related requests, periodic review of customer credit and risk profiles, supporting the Relationship Managers and Portfolio Leads on the credit approval process of new transactions (incorporating deal structuring, preparing credit submissions, historical and forward looking financial and industry analysis etc.), the preparation of client presentations and customer account plans and managing compliance with internal processes and policies as well as other ad hoc support for Relationship Managers and the Head of C&P.
What you'll be doing:
The Analyst will be responsible for supporting credit analysis across a portfolio of clients with a focus on credit quality monitoring and the achievement of the Bank's risk / return targets through:
Account Management:
- Conducting annual credit reviews and internal rating reviews
- Financial analysis and modelling
- Covenant compliance monitoring
- Supporting refinancing and other revenue initiatives across the portfolio
- Coordinating within the MUFG network
- Client interactions on tasks required for on-boarding and account management
- Any other required tasks in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures and required to support the broader business
- Support the C&P team in the management of the wider portfolio, including a focus on sector risk / return and other strategic review processes
- 2+ years' experience in a major domestic or international bank or chartered accounting firm
o Alternatively, we would be open to a candidate with skills and background within the relevant industries of Energy, Utilities and Infrastructure
- Undergraduate Business / Commerce / Law Degree from a leading university is essential
- Proficiency in the full suite of core Microsoft products, and will be strong in financial modelling
- Possess an understanding of financial and economic markets
- Experience in: (a) credit writing; (b) financial analysis and modelling; and (c) legal documentation and debt structuring
- Be able to engage in independent research & analysis of customers and markets and apply critical thinking and a high level of attention to detail
- The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally
- Has strong interpersonal and presentations skills
- Is a team player
- Is a self-starter who applies initiative and has drive and enthusiasm
- Has an analytical mindset and problem solving skills
- Has the ability to work independently and prioritise a number of tasks across various work streams and alongside a number of stakeholders
