We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join our Funds Management and Capital Partnering Finance Team in Sydney.

Based from our Sydney head office on Castlereagh Street this is a full-time role, offering flexibility to balance working between the office and home.

This role is being recruited on a 12-month contract.

The Role

Supporting the Finance Manager, you will help deliver the financial aspects of Stockland's Funds Management and Capital Partnering business including the creation and implementation of new funds and capital partnerships and delivering financial reporting requirements.

• Help deliver the financial aspects of new funds and Capital Partnering opportunities at Stockland
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of financial reporting for funds and capital partnerships - monthly, quarterly and annually including balance sheet reconciliations
• Support Stockland's compliance with fund and capital partnership deadlines and help deliver a materially clean audit of the relevant financial statements
• Assist the Finance Manager in preparing accounting papers and memos that enable senior leaders to understand key accounting issues as they relate to Funds Management and Capital Partnering opportunities and transactions
• Collaborate with the wider Group Finance and business teams to implement and embed new fund and Capital Partnering opportunities, with a particular focus on finance processes and financial reporting
• Support the Finance Manager to deliver and provide insights to Group Investments on funds and capital partnership financial performance
• Enhance organisational effectiveness through continuous improvement and innovation
• Partner with key internal customers or stakeholders to build and maintain strong working relationships (eg: Group Planning, Forecasting & Analysis, Treasury, Tax, Group Investment and IT Systems teams)

About You

You are a strong communicator and experienced accountant who is ready to learn and grow into a challenging role that will deliver on our company strategy.

You also possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• CA / CPA or equivalent accreditation
• Experience in financial accounting
• Experience in the real estate/property or Funds Management industry preferable
• Experience with SAP or similar software
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting standards and principles
• Advanced analytical skills
• Proactively challenges and influences decision making
• Ability to prioritise competing needs whilst maintaining stakeholder relationships
• Applies lateral thinking to problem solving in order to achieve optimal business outcomes
• Ability to manage complex and multiple projects at any given point in time
• Ability to identify inefficiencies and drive change with stakeholders
