Position: 3 x permanent vacancies (Animal Management Investigator)

Salary from: Stream A, Level 4 salary from $80,259.85/ year + Super

We have an exciting opportunity for three (3) Animal Management Investigators to join our team. Each will be responsible for investigating serious dog attacks and making fair and balanced decisions to protect public safety. We are looking for self-motivated team players who will uphold the safety of our community with a ‘greater good’ outlook.

Exceptionally developed interpersonal and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, established time management and self-motivation are qualities which are essential. Your ability to follow rigorous processes and autonomously manage a busy workload will ensure timely public safety outcomes. Experience in investigations and/or enforcement will be looked on favourably, importantly your ability to contribute to the goals, growth and wellbeing of the team will be critical to your success.

Key indicators for success include:

• Ability to conduct detailed investigation into serious dog attacks, inclusive of office and field work.
• Interpret, apply and enforce relevant legislation and local laws.
• Established high-level report writing.
• An understanding of canine behaviour and identification.
• A passion for delivering safety focused outcomes. 
• Proven conflict resolution skills to attain desired outcomes whilst maintaining a positive Council image.
• Ability to acquire competency in a range of corporate computer systems and mobility solutions (field computer use)
• Possession of a current "C" class driver's licence
• Ability to work flexible hours if required by operational needs in any 5 days out of 7 which may include weekends (penalty rates applicable).
• Willingness to participate in ongoing personal and professional training.
• Ability to successfully pass all background related checks including functional capacity evaluation and required immunisations for the role.
