About the Role.
This newly created role joins the team located in our Melbourne MEQ headquarters, candidates can be based locally, or remotely in the Eastern States. Reporting to the General Manager, this role suits an experienced and visionary Sales leader to drive revenue growth at a tactical and strategic level. As part of the Leadership Team, this role oversees the sales operations and drives sophistication through developing value propositions for our word first products and positioning MEQ Probe as market disruptors.
Centred on advancing market penetration, the key remit includes business growth, strategy, reporting and process improvement leadership. The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Reaching new business sales targets this role and assigning account management to the sales team;
- Proposing sales growth strategies, communicate and manage the execution of approved strategy to the Executive;
- Driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing accounts and managing the sales pipeline;
- Leading, coaching and mentoring the Sales team to reach their targets and develop positive relationships with prospective clients and effectively relationship management;
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders;
- Leading negotiations for major deals and partnerships, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements;
- Creating, proposing and implementing Sales Department OKR’s and strategies inline with company objectives;
- Developing Sales growth plans, forecasts and budgets and monitor progress towards achieving targets;
- Providing accurate sales forecasts to guide resource allocation and business planning;
- Monitoring client metrics, analysing data and generating reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement;
- Staying informed on market trends, competitor activities and industry developments to adjust sales strategies as needed;
- Travelling interstate and intrastate to client sites, and partner and industry meetings to build relationships and leverage opportunities.
The ideal candidate would have the following essential skills and experience:
- 7 - 10 years + of success in meeting sales targets, as well as leading a team.
- A focus on achieving and exceeding targets to drive revenue growth.
- A deep understanding of sales processes, methodologies and best practices. This includes prospecting, lead generation, negotiation, closing deals, and account management.
- An excellent understanding of sales operations and strategy, and proven experience in leading and developing a high-performing sales team.
- An understanding of data analytics and how to analyse customer data to identify trends/patterns/insights.
- An understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial metrics related to sales.
- Working within a dynamic scale-uo organisation.
- High-level verbal and written communication skills with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy.
- An analytical mind-set, with the ability to interpret data and extract insights.
- The ability to self-motivate and strategically focus on outcomes.
- Strong familiarity with CRM systems for tracking and managing customer interactions.
- Skilled at analysing complex situations and finding effective solutions.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and standards in Australia in the Red Meat industry and knowledge of Australian Australian Meat and MSA Red Meat Grading standards is preferred but not essential.
