AO3 Project Controls Officer, Government entity, Toowoomba or Warwick location, $43.27/hr

Government organisation seeking Project Controls Officer for temp contract until October 2024. You'll be part of a large government project located in the Darling Downs region.
Your new role
Located at either the Toowoomba or Warwick office, as the Project Controls Officer your duties will include:
- Project and Contract financial data processing and maintenance.
- Interpret and apply financial policies and procedures e.g. financial delegation, very basic accrual accounting
- Use a variety of generic and financial software packages to prepare financial documentation e.g. journals, good receipts, progress claim certificates
- Undertake project and contract reporting to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of overall financial positions to provide early warnings of deviations
- Provide high level administrative support to project managers and team members, including establishing and maintaining spreadsheets and registers to provide timely information, generating documents and reports and providing updates to various stakeholders (internal and external), coordination of team meetings including taking and distributing minutes, as required.
- Provide basic system guidance and support to project and contract managers
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders at various levels using professional written and verbal communication
- Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have strong administration skills, with previous project experience being advantageous. You will have excellent attention to detail and accurate data entry skills. You will be a good communicator, with the ability to work well in a team environment. You will possess a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills. If successful, you will be willing to undergo a Criminal History Check prior to commencing.
