The Project Support Officer - Controls & Estimating will generally provide support to all Project Delivery activities undertaken by the Project Department. The role will provide a range of technical support in Project Controls, Business Reporting and Estimating functions that the Project Management Office (PMO) is undertaking for the Glencore Technology business.
You will be responsible for:
- Updating of Estimate Databases
- Manage the document flow and distribute Requests for Information (RFI) to suppliers for updated budget or fixed pricing for estimating
- Understand and be able to create Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) of Work within SAP to ensure consistency across projects to monitor the status of all costs, invoicing and delivery up to the closure of the project.
- Knowledge and support in implementing SAP Project Control functions required to ensure project processes can occur and be reported on.
- Assist in generating reports used by the project team and management to track the performance of projects on a regular basis.
- The manipulation of data (cost, schedule, risk related, register data) used in controlling costs, projects, updating schedules for Department schedules, including cost and time variations, and risk analysis.
- The ability to work with and understand budgets, project controls reporting, risk analysis and reports, and other elements of overall project monitoring and control.
- Formatting and updating SAP templates, project controls and estimating templates as instructed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proficiency in the Project Support Role (primarily Project Administration and Document Control)
- The ability to define the fundamental components of the activity in terms of its scope, deliverables, time scales, resource requirements and budget.
- The ability to develop and maintain schedules
- Experience with Tendering, Bid Evaluation and Contract Conformance.
- Experience estimating costs, producing a budget and controlling forecasts and actual spend against budget.
