About the Department Our client is the state government department responsible to assist thousands of Queenslanders to gain access to emergency hardship grants, during their time of need that has been caused by natural disasters and weather events around our state. Queensland is feeling the impact of a number of small bushfires along with multiple Cyclones in NQ and flooding across southeast Queensland leaving many of our fellow Queenslanders and their families without power, services and unfortunately in many cases, their homes and their belongings. About the Role With their office Located in Vulture street, Wolloongabba, our client has a large number of contract opportunities available, staring IMMEDIATELY which will initially run month to month and while we can't promise it, we have seen these roles run for up to 6 months in the past. Your role will be to support Queenslanders in need by proving assistance through a variety of roles available such as assisting with travel and grant assessments as well as taking enquiries both over the phone and via the website, in some cases there will be field roles available that will see face to face communication for those out 'on the ground' with the community. Often these people will be stressed and in distress as sadly and in many cases have lost everything, therefore it will be your resilience, empathy and flexibility that will be most helpful to our fellow Queenslanders during this highly emotional time. About You As mentioned above, this will be a harrowing time for many people who will be stressed, confused and highly emotional and it is therefore imperative that you are able to operate with the resilience, empathy and flexibility required in such situations. Before applying please note : You MUST BE available to start work now! You must the ability to start IMMEDIATELY from 31st January Due to the urgent nature of this start date, applicants who are already in employment and need to provide notice to their employer cannot be considered. You MUST BE available to work a 4-5 day roster across a 7 day week. You will be required to be available for shifts that include weekends and any public holidays with a maximum of 5 days to be worked in any one week. Please be aware that there are 2 shifts - the first starts at 6.00am and finishes at 1.30pm and the second starts at 2.00pm and finishes at 9:30pm.
