The Executive Manager, TC Jasper Disaster and Community Recovery provides high level expert professional support, management and policy advice to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to assist the management and strategic direction setting for Douglas Shire Council.
This role requires great energy, exemplary leadership and interpersonal skills and a positive outlook. You will have an understanding of the political environment of Douglas Shire Council and the broader Federal and State Government Departments and Agencies, with particular emphasis on Disaster Management, Community Recovery and Resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support strategic focus on Community Recovery and Resilience for Council
- Lead implementation of Community Recovery and Resilience plan
- Provide high-level advice on Disaster Management and Community Recovery
- Manage key strategic projects in Disaster and Community Recovery
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders for Council priorities
- Coordinate Office of the CEO for efficiency and quality outcomes
- Manage the organisational and legislative compliance interests of the CEO.
- Stay informed about relevant political, policy, and strategic issues.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in Disaster Management and Community Recovery
- Strong working relationships with government agencies
- Knowledge of public sector environment and relevant legislation
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field.
The Executive ManagerTC Jasper Disaster and Community Recovery is a two-year contract that plays an essential role in providing strategic leadership and operational support to the Council's disaster response efforts.
