Job description

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in planning, executing, and managing the supply of leased assets within the State Government's property portfolio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the optimization of office accommodation leasing strategies, ensuring best practices and value for money across all leasing activities. 

Ideally looking for a candidate that has had exposure in commercial property management  (maybe a Facilities also) but must have a commerical background in leasing/ property management. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering the supply of leased assets within the State Government's property portfolio.
  • Provide expert lease management advice for the State Government's office property portfolio.
  • Support the delivery of executive or sensitive leasing projects and office accommodation provisions.
  • Contribute to the updating and enhancement of lease management and financial management systems.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Support the implementation of whole-of-Government accommodation strategies.
  • Develop policies, guidelines, and systems for best practice office accommodation leasing.
  • Conduct research on marketplace conditions and industry trends to contribute to strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with executive committees and intra-departmental meetings.
  • Build and maintain networks across the Department.
  • Assist in the preparation of executive correspondence and briefing notes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in commercial leasing or property management, preferably within the public sector.
  • Strong understanding of lease management principles and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial reporting software is advantageous.
