With state of the art Therapeutic and Detox Centres across Victoria, this exciting and unique opportunity allows you to build on your AOD experience from previous nursing roles and work with a passionate and dedicated team of highly skilled, multi-disciplinary AOD and mental health experts.
About the role
Based in Dandenong, and working as the Detox Centre and Outreach program Registered Nurse, you will provide clinical expertise within the intake and admission team, with a focus on assessment, treatment planning and service delivery. A large part of your day is working closely with GP's to undertake clinical assessments for resident admissions, as well as facilitating health education programs and checking in with current residents to provide clinical care and assist with withdrawal symptoms and other health related matters. The role is based across two locations and split between two days working within the residential detox programme (Mondays and Tuesdays) and two days ( can be flexible) working with the non-residential outreach program, which will include home visits alongside an AOD clinician to home-based detox recipients across Melbourne's south eastern suburbs
About you
You are a confident and capable Registered Nurse, with experience working with AOD patients in previous roles, with sound knowledge of problematic alcohol and other drug use. You have strong clinical nursing and assessment skills with a patient focused, goal oriented approach to service provision. For this role you will need:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Nurse
- Cert IV in AOD completed or currently enrolled and completing.
- Current Victorian Drivers licence
- Full COVID vaccinations
- Demonstrated experience working in AOD nursing roles
