The opportunity
A rare career opportunity exists for a qualified and energetic FieldApplications Engineerto join our successful team in South Australia.
Our Applications Engineering group assist the sales and after sales service process by managing and/or assisting with all new CNC machine installations, assembly, start up, test run, full commission and customer training as agreed with the customer in the sales process.
The role will be to join the After Sales Service team to undertake all aspects of machine programming, customer training and customer advice. Reasonable travel can be expected.
The Field Applications Engineer role will encompass training for all new machine installations, for chargeable field training and to undertake training of other Okuma engineers in Australia or overseas.
This position would suit someone who is already working with CNC Machine Tools and has ambitions to expand their experience and career.

Specifically for the Applications Engineer role
- Formal trade fitter/mechanic or tertiary qualification.
- Turning and machining experience in most commonly used materials including Titanium, Aluminium, Stainless and carbon steels, brass, hard alloys, composites, cast and forged materials.
- Demonstrable CNC Machine tool (Lathes and Machining Centres as a minimum) advanced programming skills. (Okuma OSP and Fanuc preferred)
- Machinery and industrial safety aware
