The Opportunity
NOV Australia have an opportunity for an experienced Applications Engineer to assist the Internal Sales Team with managing pumping and mixing applications through enquiry, tender, award and delivery.
Review and understanding of client specs and project requirements, creating/modifying technical documentation, managing tender budget and careful management of all technical and planning aspects of a project are all key tasks for this role.
You will need to select suitable progressive cavity and centrifugal pumps, static mixers and agitators using our selection tools to compile complex tenders to suit all levels of applications.
The role will involve working with international clients, sales teams, engineering and operations and other departments to assist you in creating tenders, processing orders and providing technical support for other parts of the business and ensure that the designed/offered solution meets the customer requirements.
Good communication skills are necessary to liaise with all departments in the business both locally and overseas.
To be successful you will have an Engineering Degree and preferably experience in a similar applications role with at least 3 years' experience.
Knowledge, understanding and experience in industries such as industrial, mining, wastewater, agricultural, petrochemical, food and beverage and chemical would be preferred. Reading and understanding of complex customer specifications is necessary.
You will need to have excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs and functions at once. The successful candidate must have a high level of attention to detail as this is extremely critical to the success of this role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Reviewing and understanding technical and commercial proposals prior to quoting and accepting an order.
- Reviewing, creating, modifying technical documentation.
- Using our equipment selection tools to effectively select the best solution for our client.
- Compiling a complex tender to achieve all requirements of a clients’ application.
- Order entry through CRM and ERP systems.
- Managing International orders through our Australian business.
- Reviewing, actioning and redirecting customer requests and complaints.
- Perform such other duties, relevant to the position, as may be necessary.

Educational Qualifications
- Engineering Degree
