Apprentice Butcher

We currently have a position for an Apprentice Butcherto join our team.

We are an established family-run retail butcher shop specialising in providing a traditional butchery experience to our local customers. The current owners have been operating the business for over eight years and the current team comprises 3 butchers and several shop staff.

Duties will involve:

• General butchery, including learning to:
• process bodies of beef, lamb, pork & chicken
• cut, trim and shape standard cuts of meat to size
• operate machinery such as mincers, mixers, sausage fillers.
• make products, such as sausages, marinated, value-add and ready-to-cook
• Pack, store and present products for display at a high standard for sale
• Cleaning and upkeep of the shopfront and back.
• Attend to and serve customers to provide advice and process sales.

The applicant will be:

• A 2nd, 3rd, 4th year or recommencing apprentice with a passion for the trade.
• Well-presented and a confident communicator
• Motivated to take direction, learn and problem solve.
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Diligent and safety conscious
