We are looking for an Apprentice Chef to join our busy team in our small family owned Cafe & Delicatessen. Our kitchen stocks our Deli displays with high quality home-made meals, while also providing a full menu for seating dining.
You will need to be passionate about food, career driven and a team player & there is an opportunity for you to commence the Certicate 3 Full Time or a School based oppurtunity!
Training for an Apprentice Cook covers basic culinary skills, knife skills, knowledge of ingredients, use of commercial equipment and kitchen procedures.
Your main duties include but not limited to:
- Assisting the chef in the preparation and cooking of meals.
- Training to learn procedures and duties in food preparation.
- Working under the supervision of the chef.
- Operating commercial cooking equipment such as mixers, steamers, fryers, ovens and stoves.
- Serves food when required.
- Kitchen cleaning, such as dish washing and equipment cleaning, sanitation.
- Assists in other areas of food preparation and storage.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a passion for the food industry.
- Be punctual & reliable.
- Have flexibility to work different shifts.
- Be well presented.
All training will be provided in house by our Head chef. Successful applicants will be well presented, punctual & keen to work.
4 days a week, approximately 7:30am - 4:00pm. NO NIGHTS - NO SUNDAYS
