The Role
Reporting to the HR Manager and based in Darra, the Apprentice Coordinatorwill be the central point of contact for all apprenticeship related queries. The Apprentice Coordinator is crucial in enhancing and managing VAE's apprenticeship program, ensuring optimal development for apprentices to become proficient tradespeople.
Some of the key responsibilities will include but is not limited to:
- Monitoring apprentices' progress in performance, milestones, profiling, and studies
- Engaging with apprentices to provide necessary support
- Reviewing and improving how VAE develop apprentices
- Coordinating and conducting training sessions for apprentices and their supervisors
- Collaborating with managers, RTOs, AASN’s, and DYJESBT for apprentice-related matters
- Leading the recruitment process for new apprenticeship positions
- Managing all apprenticeship subsidy claims on the ADMS
- Provide on-site support to apprentices across multiple branches including Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin

We are looking for a candidate who will demonstrate their proven experience working with apprentices, who is passionate about making better tradespeople, and the following attributes:
- Experience working with apprentices
- Understanding of Apprenticeship/Vocational Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement
- A drive for continuous improvement
- Intermediate computer skills
- Highly beneficial but not essential:
- Training and Assessment qualification
- Experience within the HVAC construction or service industry
- A trade qualification (ideally electrical, refrigeration or plumbing)
