Apprentice Gardener
Classification: Full-time, 38 hours per week
Location: IRT Illawarra

We are looking for an Apprentice Gardener that has a demonstrated ability to deliver a high standard of gardening for our Illawarra sites.
Reporting to the Facilities Management Coordinator, you will perform garden maintenance and general maintenance at our IRT Illawarra locations.
Your work may include:
- Undertaking basic plant and garden site maintenance
- Prepare a site for plant and carry out the planting process
- Use chemicals and biological agents to safeguard turf, plants shrubs and trees against weeds, pests and diseases
- Use of IRT vehicles, property and equipment ensuring safety and use in accordance with the specified instructions, regulations and laws
- Assist other maintenance and IRT employees in other functions as directed
- Other duties as required by the ACE 6a Gardener

To be successful you will have:
- School Certificate or equivalent
- Demonstrated computer literacy
- An ability to communicate effectively using both verbal and written skills
- Commitment and genuine interest in a horticulture career
- Desirable: Pre Apprenticeship Course in Horticulture.
- Desirable: First Aid Certificate
- Current NSW Driver's Licence (Manual preferred) and own vehicle (for which a mileage allowance is paid)
