The Opportunity:
Mineral Resources Limited are currently seeking site-based Apprentice Masters to assist with the coordination and management of Apprentices and Trade Upgrades on our operational sites.
Reporting to the Superintendent - Learning and Development the Apprentice Master - Site Operations will oversee site-based Apprentices who are at a more advanced stage of their development journey. While maintaining a focus on pastoral care, this role will also deliver technical development support for our operations, ensuring that Apprentices achieve their personal and technical development objectives in their final years.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Support & Mentorship: Provide mentorship to site-based apprentices, including trade upgrades, offering guidance and support as they progress in their programs.
- Skills Assessments: Work with leaders on site to regularly assess the progress and skills development of apprentices, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
- Logbooks Support: Assist apprentices in maintaining accurate and up-to-date logbooks, ensuring they record their practical work and meet the necessary documentation requirements for their trade.
- Task Allocation: Support site leaders where required to ensure that assigned tasks and projects that align with the requirements of their apprenticeships, allowing them to gain relevant skills and experience.
- Communication & Progress Tracking: Maintain transparent communication channels with apprentices, students, supervisor, and RTO's to monitor progress and well-being.
- Adaptability & Innovation: Stay updated on evolving best practices in VET Pathways and industry standards. Modify strategies to better align with the needs of apprentices in their work environment.
- Performance Monitoring: Keep accurate records of apprentices' advancement, training, and performance.
Working an 8/6 roster, these roles will travel across all our Operational Sites and require trade experience. These roles are vital in ensuring the success of our programs by providing the best learning experience possible.
What you'll bring to the team
- Trade qualification and experience in relevant discipline - Auto Electrician, Boilermaker/Welder, Electrician, HD Fitter or Mechanical Fitter
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- A passion for seeing other's succeed
- Experience in supporting the training and development of employees to move them towards more effective ways of operating
- Demonstrated ability in evaluating, reporting, and consulting leadership on performance metrics
